Thoughts
This page will serve as a list of issues upon which I’d like write about and perhaps do some intelligence gathering so I can untangle my own thoughts into a clear sense of whatever it means to be. Anything is up for fair game and can include broad things like “Abortion” or “World Peace” — it’d be nice to also put next to it some preliminary thoughts or perhaps what provoked it to get submitted on this page. Let’s put them in numerical order of difficulty (so that #1 might be something I never get to because it is so philosophically all-consuming that I might collapse for days after having written it).

Abortion.
Reason Posted: Listening to left-wing talk on sirius and there was a great argument/debate over it.
Brief: I’m pro-life. However, I have been trying to understand further the idea of the “unwanted” pregnancy. Ultimately, I like the idea of choice, but pro-choice being anti-life is not my cup of tea at the moment. The liberal argument that there are already too many (unwanted - God, i hate saying that word) children at the poverty level is reason enough to argue for abortion but I don’t buy that. We can have our cake and eat it too - we should be able to find suitable home and love for all children and we should have a culture and programs in place to ensure those kids don’t end up in poverty. Is this really all that difficult?
-
Capital Punishment.
Reason Posted: The recent gang leader turned born-again to help others not follow in his footsteps still got the chair.
Brief: This one has really torn me on both sides. I think no crime should go unpunished. But I also dislike that our crime seems to push disproportionately towards those who are at an economic disadvantage. Not that it is any excuse for anyone to commit a crime, but let’s call it like we see it. I want to believe that all can be born again or at least weaned from crime in a specific way, but everyone is different. How can we have policies that are so strict and absolute the people and their varying circumstances are not?

The political climate and don’t be unreasonable.
Reason Posted: Because the current political climate really sucks and I’m curious about the source of the climate shift in DC, where it is and where it’s going.
Brief: Working on it.
-
Religion.
Reason Posted: Because it’s a journey that never ends.
Brief: Under construction.
-
Religious majorities, the evangelical right and the moderate Christians who bless them.
Reason Posted: Because I think above many, many things this is a central issue in our country today.
Brief: In motion.

East vs. West: Neocons, terrorists and facists, oh my.
Reason Posted: I don’t buy the east vs. west perpetuated myth. There are entities that have their hands up the public’s “puppet” ass and is madly shaking it back and forth.
Brief: Considering it all heavily.
